Every season, boutique owners stand in front of a showroom wall of suits and ask the same question: which of these will actually sell in my shop? The answer depends on your customers, your city and your price point — but some patterns repeat across almost every market we work with.
This guide breaks the wholesale suit range into its main styles, explains who buys each one and when, and shows how to combine them into a rail that sells through. It is written for buyers who choose stock, not for end customers, so we focus on what moves and why.
The two-piece slim-fit suit: your foundation
The two-piece slim-fit suit is the backbone of almost every menswear boutique. It is what customers buy for work, interviews, meetings and most formal events.
Why it sells: it is versatile, easy to understand and fits the widest range of occasions. A modern slim cut — two buttons, notch or peak lapel, double vent — looks current without being a fashion risk.
What to stock: focus on core colours first. Navy, charcoal, black and mid-grey are the safest. Once those are covered, add one or two seasonal colours — brown and beige tones in spring and autumn, deeper greens or burgundy in winter.
Details that help: pick stitching along the lapel and pockets, a lapel pin and a matching pocket square make a mid-priced suit feel more expensive on the hanger. Patch ("pouch") pockets give a relaxed, fashionable look that younger customers like.
In our collection, models such as Carrera, Firenze and Bolivya sit in this category. You can filter for two-piece suits in the collection.
The three-piece suit: occasions and celebrations
A three-piece suit adds a matching waistcoat. It is the suit customers choose when the occasion matters: weddings, engagements, graduations and religious holidays.
Why it sells: it looks complete and photographs well, and the waistcoat gives the wearer a polished look even after the jacket comes off. In many markets, three-piece suits sell strongly in the months before wedding season and major holidays.
What to stock: classic colours again, but with more room for lighter and warmer shades — beige, light grey, soft blue and camel are popular for daytime and summer events. Plan your three-piece order a season ahead of your local wedding calendar.
Selling tip: display the waistcoat visibly, with the jacket open. Customers often decide on a three-piece because they see the full look on the mannequin.
The double-breasted suit: the statement piece
Double-breasted suits — typically six buttons with two to close — have moved from niche to mainstream in recent seasons. They signal confidence and style.
Why it sells: customers who already own a two-piece suit look for something different, and a double-breasted jacket is an easy step up. It also works as a separate jacket with knitwear or a turtleneck.
What to stock: fewer pieces than your core two-piece models, but in stronger fabrics: chalk stripes, pinstripes and deep solid colours. A peak lapel is the classic choice for double-breasted cuts.
Selling tip: place one double-breasted suit near the entrance or in the window. Even customers who buy a two-piece will notice the shop as more fashionable.
Our Venedik, Anka, Irmak and Ekol models are examples of slim double-breasted cuts.
Blazers and jackets sold on their own
Blazers sold without trousers are one of the most profitable categories for a boutique. They raise the average basket, sell across more seasons and are easier to fit.
Why they sell: customers can wear a blazer with jeans, chinos or trousers they already own. It suits smart-casual workplaces and evenings out.
What to stock: textured and patterned fabrics work best — checks, houndstooth, subtle windowpanes, melange wool looks. Brown, olive, grey and navy are reliable. Patch pockets and a softer construction emphasise the casual side.
Fit advantage: because there are no matching trousers, you avoid problems with customers whose chest and waist do not follow the standard drop. Our size chart guide explains why this matters.
Colours: a simple framework
When you plan your colour mix, think in three layers:
| Layer | Colours | Share of order (guide) |
|---|---|---|
| Core | Navy, charcoal, black, mid-grey | About half |
| Seasonal | Brown, beige, camel, light grey, soft blue | About a third |
| Accent | Green, burgundy, bold stripes and checks | The rest |
The exact split depends on your market. Business districts lean towards core colours; resort towns and wedding-focused shops lean towards lighter and seasonal shades.
Fabrics and finishes
- 100% wool is the premium choice: it breathes, drapes well and recovers from creasing. It is the strongest selling point for higher-priced suits.
- Wool blends combine wool with polyester for durability and a lower price.
- Stretch fabrics with a small amount of elastane are increasingly popular for slim fits, because they move with the body.
- Design fabrics — subtle textures, micro-patterns and melange yarns — make a suit look distinctive without being loud.
Ask your supplier for the exact composition of every model and make sure your staff can explain it. Customers buy with more confidence when they understand what they are paying for.
Building a balanced rail for your first order
For a boutique placing its first wholesale order, a balanced starting mix might look like this:
- Six to eight two-piece models in core colours, plus one or two seasonal shades.
- Two to three three-piece models, timed for your wedding and holiday season.
- One or two double-breasted models as statement pieces.
- Three to four blazers in textured fabrics.
Since wholesale suits are sold in size runs, this gives you a wide choice on the shop floor without overloading one model. Our guide to buying wholesale suits from Turkey explains runs, minimums and shipping in detail.
Reading the season
- Spring and summer: lighter colours, softer fabrics, three-piece suits for weddings, blazers for smart-casual.
- Autumn and winter: deeper colours, heavier wool, stripes and checks, double-breasted cuts.
- Holiday peaks: stock up on three-piece and dark two-piece suits several weeks before major holidays in your market.
Reorder what sells quickly. Istanbul brands release new models throughout the season, so you can refresh your rail more often than with long-lead production.
